Safety Notes

Weight Capacity - Ensure that you choose a pipe trolley with the weight capacity to complete the job. Never try to overload the cradle or platform.

Wheel Type - Castors are suitable for indoor use in warehouses and workshops. Pneumatic tyres (or rough terrain wheels) are designed for use on rough or uneven surfaces. They are ideal for use outdoors, on building sites, at outdoor events and on yards. While solid tyres are great for smooth indoor surfaces, such as warehouses and factories. When pneumatic wheels are used, check the tyre pressures match the pressure indicated on the tyre wall and that the pressures are equal in both wheels.

Load Distribution - Place the load evenly on the cradle or platform. If items are stacked, heavier items should be placed towards the bottom, with lighter items on top.

Load Security - Use straps or bungee cord to secure the load to the trolley. This will help to prevent the load from shifting or falling during transport.

Handling Techniques - Use correct handling techniques while moving the long load. Maintain a straight back when loading or unloading items, and grip the handle or frame firmly with both hands when operating. Use appropriate PPE such as toe capped boots, high-vis vest and rigger gloves. Take regular breaks to prevent fatigue and reduce the risk of injury.

Surroundings - Clear any obstacles or tripping hazards on your path before starting to move the trolley. Take extra care when transporting loads on any mild inclines or uneven surfaces.
