Types of Telescopic Ladder

Standard Telescopic Ladders

Our standard telescopic ladders, also known as collapsible ladders or retractable ladders, are great for home DIY or professional trade use. When in the collapsed position, they are very easy to store, transport in a vehicle and carry around.

Our range includes the ever popular TB Davies 3.8m XTEND+CLIMB ProSeries 3.8m telescopic ladder. These ladders are certified to EN131-6 standard. EN131 Part 6 is regulation which enhances the safety of telescopic ladders. This standard says that any telescopic ladders that are over 3m should be equipped with a stabiliser bar, helping to minimise the risk of accidents & injury.

Multi-Purpose Retractable Ladders

We also offer multi-purpose telescopic ladders, such as the Little Giant Conquest All-Terrain Multi-Purpose Fibreglass Ladder. These ladders can be used as an A-frame stepladder, 90 degree step ladder or extension ladder. The length of these ladders can be adjusted quickly & easily, to provide the ideal size required for the job in any of the configurations.

Telescopic Podium Steps

Telescopic podium step ladders are ideal for access in workshops, warehouses, factories, retail facilities, archiving and on construction sites. These retractable step ladders feature adjustable legs, so they can be setup to suit the job at hand perfectly.

Our Lyte telescopic extension ladders are certified to EN131-7, allowing you to work safely and comfortably at a height, with an all-round guardrail and locking gate ensuring security on the platform.

We also have these telescopic step ladders available in aluminium or fibreglass construction. Aluminium models offer strength and durability, along with lightweight design for easier repositioning. While the fibreglass models are non-conductive, making them suitable for use when working on electrical installations.

Are Telescopic Ladders Safe?

As with any pieces of professional access equipment, telescopic ladders are safe when used correctly and for their intended purpose. Our telescopic ladders are all rated to EN131 standard and have a range of safety features to provide security for the user, including a stabiliser bar, grip on the rungs, and automatic locking mechanisms.

When using a telescopic ladder, you must ensure:

• The ladder is used on level & stable ground
• The locks on each section are working and engaged
• Never to overreach
• Never to stand on the top three rungs
• Maintain three points of contact with the ladder at all times

Do you have to fully extend telescopic ladders?

No, you do not need to fully extend telescopic ladders. You can set the ladder to the length required and it will lock in position at that length, ready for use.
